The ILI Magician Hospital Training

The ILI Volunteer Magician
Hospital Training Program

If you don’t already know, our second President Brother Zina Bennett
was a medical doctor who used magic to aid in the recovery of his patients.

The Society Of American Magicians (S.A.M.) has put together a fantastic and very informative web-based class for performing magic for kids in hospitals. Even if you are not looking to perform in hospitals, just in general this is a very good resource.

You don’t have to be a member of the (S.A.M.) to use this site, and it is completely free of charge. It consists of 8 informative lessons followed by a quick test before moving on to the next lesson. These lessons include do’s and don’ts for performing in hospitals and for kids. It also includes ideas for zoom-type shows and how to make them better. Along with several video lessons of tricks geared toward kids. See the list below.

Although the information was very useful it was not overly taxing and you can get through it in just a few hours.

Again, you do not have to be a member of the (S.A.M.) to take this course. There is a form you’ll need to fill out before beginning the course. If you are not a member of the S.A.M. when you get to the box asking for your member number, just type (ILI). If you are a member of the S.A.M., please enter your member number followed by ILI, because they are tracking our members separately and sending us reports of our members who are participating. I’m thinking it might be good to have a network of us who can work together on this. Also, don’t forget to let me know after you have performed 5 or more gratis shows for hospitals… cause we have an award for that.
